Urartu12
This necklace features a hand-carved cameo in lapis lazuli, elegantly set in hand-molded sterling silver with a silver chain.
The Urartu Kingdom, which ruled Eastern Anatolia from the 9th to the 6th century BC, placed great importance on amulets. Animal figures such as lions, bulls, and eagles were commonly used in Urartian designs, symbolizing strength and courage. Images of Urartian gods like Haldi, Teisheba, and Shivini were also included, believed to enhance the significance of the amulets.
