Urartu6
This necklace features a hand-carved cameo in red carnelian, elegantly set with a hand-molded sterling silver chain.
The Urartu Kingdom, which ruled Eastern Anatolia from the 9th to the 6th century BC, placed great importance on amulets. Animal figures such as lions, bulls, and eagles were commonly depicted, symbolizing strength and courage. Images of Urartian gods like Haldi, Teisheba, and Shivini were also incorporated.
Amulets have played a notable role throughout history, reflecting the beliefs and values of the cultures that created them.
